Plants and resins in their natural form are tools of self-empowerment.  Unadulterated pure oils are both the defense mechanism and allure of the plant- they seduce and attract: wearing oil blends creates synergy - the composition of the elements on the skin weave together to create a whole that transcends into different realms. The oils ignite the senses, rekindle memories, awaken instinct and intuition.

Scent As a Portal

Admittedly, I don’t know that much about scents. I don’t really understand why or how Hagop deems this an extension of the original Ceremonia blend, as they smell quite different to me. But no matter how it is composed, Ceremonia 2 is a rare sequel that exceeds the original. Through the alchemy of combining and curing painstakingly sourced oils and compounds, it deepens the sensory experience in a way that seems ephemeral.

The first image that popped into my head when I rolled a drop onto my wrists and rubbed them together, the slight friction heating up the compounds just enough to change them, was of an old shop in an ancient city, the kind of place that has never not had incense burning, long enough that the smell has fused with the plaster, the tiles, the curtains, the inhabitants. A little further down my arm, there was another vibration altogether, a floral smell, a fresh laundry high note. Combined, they form one of the most interesting things I’ve ever had the pleasure to wear.

Starting with the dripping red wax seal, to the ornate bottle, to the cavernous depth of the oil itself, Ceremonia 2 is a marvel, a scent of real materiality and complexity that can transport both the wearer and those in their presence to another time, when craftsmanship still mattered and simple things could be appreciated more readily.
